This past Sunday I had the wonderful opportunity to spend a day with Nicolette Camille and Sarah Ryhanen of the Little Flower School, while they taught their Dutch Masters course!!! It was so amazing to learn from these two super talented ladies. They had the most amazing ranunculus ever seen! We started the day with a demo, and a little flower 'schooling' and brief introduction/history lesson of a few favorite Dutch painters, then we each took our spot at our stations and went to work while Nicolette and Sarah made the rounds and gave us all a little individual guidance. At the conclusion of the day (which came way, waaay, to early in my opinion - I could have easily spent many more hours in that beautiful building, surrounded by such beautiful flowers, and such amazingly talented designers from around the globe), we set up still life table arrangements using all kinds of objects to create a photograph similar to those paintings we took as inspiration.
Not really one for traditional wreaths and such (although this aversion seems to be disappearing, thank you Saipua and Miss Pickering), made a sweet little door swag for this holiday season.
